About Us
Founded in 2016, Keil Maritime Pty Ltd was originally operated by sole trader Daniel Keil, assisting local maritime operators in the operational and legislative needs of their vessels.
Since the closure of NT Marine Branch and the transition to AMSA as National Regulator in July 2018, the company has grown, continuing to support locals with maritime services and advice, and now providing further services in Naval Architectural, Ocean Engineering and Project Management needs throughout the Top End, Australia and Internationally.
In January 2020, we established a branch on Phillip Island, Victoria, and in July 2021 we launched a new office in Perth to ensure we're keeping up with client demand.

Meet The Team
Siobhan Longden
SURVEYS ADMINISTRATOR
Siobhan is our surveys administrator and has been with us since 2020. Siobhan works closely with our surveyors and liaises with our clients to provide ongoing support throughout their survey process from start to finish. From Non-Survey vessels, Australian Builders plates and Full Survey class vessels.
She has recently completed her coxswains course.
Daniel Keil
COMPANY DIRECTOR
BEng, Naval Architecture (Hons)
Whilst working as a consultant for the Navy's Armidale Patrol Boats, Daniel founded Keil Maritime in 2015 ahead of the closure of Marine Safety Branch NT.
Since the transition to AMSA as the National Regulator, and with Daniels' extensive Marine Surveying experience, KM has grown both the level of staff expertise and the physical expansion of the company now servicing the Top End, Victoria and WA.
Ben Taylor
COASTAL ENGINEER
BEng, Ocean (Hons)
Ocean Engineer and AMSA Accredited Marine Surveyor. Ben provides Marine Survey and Engineering consultancy as well as mooring, anchoring, lift design, vessel modification and structural analysis.
Based on Phillip Island, VIC. Ben is the forefront of Keil Maritime, East Coast.
Hamish Stevens
NAVAL ARCHITECT
BEng (Nav. Arch.) MRINA CEng MIEAust CPEng NER APEC Engineer IntPE(Aus) AMSA AMS
Hamish joined Keil Maritime in 2022 bringing in 10 years of small consultancy experience. He is experienced in structural design and analysis of steel, aluminium, FRP and polyethylene, major vessel modifications and refits, machinery and systems design and a wide range of other aspects of naval architecture and engineering. As an AMSA AMS Hamish is also well versed in the requirements of NSCV and Marine Orders.
Nicole Agno
SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
BEng (Hons), BCom
Nicole is responsible for the smooth running of all our business systems.
She has experience working as a mechnical engineer for Defence and for other engineering consultancies.
